AHAHAHAHAHA THE FRIENDICA "WALL" WAS REMOVED YEARS AGO BUT THE TOGGLE IS STILL IN SETTINGS

(i think, i might be wrong)

friendica looks so much like facebook but the people i follow are so fucking disjointed it's amazing

apparently friendica supports locations. but how do they show up.
in reply to Beau

@mochabeau i have seen One person using friendica and they're defederated by like half the fediverse
i don't get it this is such an... interesting platform
@Beau

what do you think my parents would do if i sent them a calendar event on my friendica instance

big fan of how friendica shows you what triggered a post to be fetched; if someone interacted with it, boosted it, came from a relay, etc etc

super cool test event

winter reshared this.

attend

my confusion with friendica grows by the minute

"circles" are such a useful goddamn feature and the fact that more fedi services doesn't have them is kinda dumb
in reply to doskel (friendica)

also friendica has groups and different categories of accounts, from automatically following people back to news crossposters and organization accounts
i just can't get over how granular every control is

friendica has these "channels" that are basically a hybrid of misskey antennas and bluesky feeds and they're unreasonably good for how old this software is
it has stuff like quiet posters, friend-of-friend, popular, language-based, stuff based on media content, keywords, hashtags
why is fucking friendica the most advanced fedi platform i've used

i still can't stop laughing at the fact that friendica includes a caldav-compatible calendar by default. what the fuck.

sometimes i forget that there are real people who still unironically use livejournal as their only social media

did i bust friendica or is this still working

Indicating latency between indicated creation time and actual reception/database-inclusion time?

It seems like a useful feature. Though I think the asterisk next to it might just mean that the last modification was last received 3 minutes ago.

in reply to LisPi

nope! it indicates that latency. pretty handy, and yet this is the only place i've ever seen it; mastodon and *omas takes the origin's claimed creation date, *keys take the arrived date (i think)

HOLY SHIT
FRIENDICA IS PULLING IN MY BLUESKY FEED AND NOTIFICATIONS
in reply to doskel (friendica)

i'm genuinely amazed
bridgy is pretty good, but friendica just. works. perfectly. i can tell what network posts are from, but only because of the little bluesky icon next to them. that aside, everything comes in uniformly

i am posting this message from friendica. a >10yr old piece of software that supports diaspora, hubzilla, gnu social, pump.io, activitypub, and bluesky. all in one.
